Rita Sengupta is a queer South Asian-American actor, comedian, and writer based in Brooklyn, NY. Recent TV credits include Law & Order: SVU (NBC), FBI: Most Wanted (CBS), and Let the Right One In (Showtime). 

Most recently, she wrote, starred, and produced in I'm Dead Right, a dark comedy short film starring Sakina Jaffrey. As a comedian, she was one of the featured performers in Kutti Gang's comedy special on PBS All Arts network

Her short story about coming out was published in Brown Girl Magazine's first print anthology, Untold: Defining Moments of the Uprooted. The collection features 30 creative nonfiction stories and was featured in Vogue and Cosmopolitan for best LGBTQ books in 2021.

Rita studied at Atlantic Theater Acting School and Upright Citizens Brigade. She graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a BSBA in Finance and Marketing.
