Rita Sengupta is a queer South Asian-American actor, writer, and comedian based in Brooklyn, NY. Most recently, she was one of the 30 authors selected to be a part of Brown Girl Magazine's first print anthology, Untold: Defining Moments of the Uprooted, published by Mango and Marigold Press. Untold is a collection of creative nonfiction stories that explores the South Asian experience and has been praised by Padma Lakshmi, Kal Penn, and DJ Rekha, and has been featured in Vogue and Cosmopolitan.  

She was recently one of the featured performers in Kutti Gang's comedy special on PBS All Arts network. Rita's work has also been featured by WNYC, Buzzfeed, and Glamour Magazine. Recent comedy festivals include: NYC Sketchfest and Asian Comedy Festival. Before miss rona hit, you could find her around NYC doing stand-up and performing with various sketch comedy groups.

Rita studied at Atlantic Theater Acting School and Upright Citizens Brigade. She graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a BSBA in Finance and Marketing. Follow her on Instagram, @ritasengupta, for her latest happenings.
